Description
The University of Kent is looking for our next Vice-Chancellor & President to secure the future of the University by leading our diverse community to redefine our purpose and vision for a new generation.
The University of Kent is a leading UK university, combining world class teaching and outstanding support with research that makes a meaningful difference to society. Ranked 40th in the UK in the latest Sunday Times University rankings, Kent strives to be an academically excellent university that empowers students from a wide range of backgrounds to find and shape their place in the world. We want to enable everyone in our community to thrive.
We are looking for a transformational leader who can build on 60 years of outstanding research and education delivery. A natural communicator with an excellent understanding of the acute challenges facing Higher Education today, you will combine the ability to inspire and bring people together around a shared vision for the University of Kent’s future.
Canterbury, our historic base, has been a hub of learning for centuries, while our work in Medway is at the heart of the region’s cultural redevelopment. We are proudly international in outlook, with a new Kent International College supporting students from around the world to come to Kent and growing partnerships across the globe. Across our community we build relationships, connections and partnerships that ensure our skills and expertise help shape a better future.
Our next Vice-Chancellor & President will first and foremost be someone who can combine their experience of critically re-evaluating economics of an organisation with the vision, determination and energy to lead the University of Kent to confidently reposition ourselves as a sustainable, sector leading institution over the next 5-10 years. You will inspire and engage our community to look forward with pride, ambition and purpose. This is an enormous opportunity for the right candidate. Join our world.
